In the Old West the Pony Express was set up by William Russell in 1860 to carry Mail across a 2000 mile route, a rider had to travel 75 miles a day at a gallop changing horses every 15 miles at an out post Receiving news and letters brought great comfort to people very isolated 8inch x 10inch acrylic on canvas board
