I found an old notebook of mine from 1989 with cartoons I had drawn using Don’s ‘Paint for Fun’ book, I remember it being really easy to follow with great cartoons to learn to draw. Is this book still available anywhere? I don’t know where my copy is and I would love it for my three children to have.

Hi Don, I have a 12 year old daughter, Anna, who loves art and drawing. I live in The Ballagh, about 7 miles from Enniscorthy. I have been looking for art classes for her (and me if possible!) for the last year or more. Can you recommend any art classes in the Enniscorthy area, or is there any chance you do classes yourself?

Dear Mr Conroy, While visiting my home place last week in Co waterford (Farmer) I noticed that every night just before dusk the trees surrounding the residence became home for a very large flock of crows. it took about 30 minutes for them to settle and all departed again at dawn.. What was happening here and where did they go for the day. This happens i am told each night. I have never seen so many birds in my entire life. It was an extraordinary sight.

Hi Vincent, thanks for your comment. What you’re seeing is a rookery. This is where the “rooks” (crows) come to roost each evening having spent most of the day searching for food in fields and towns. They are a group species so they stick together and they probably chose your farm as they feel the trees are suitable and must be a “safe roost” for them, or a “traditional roost” so has been used over the years by other rooks. It’s quite a spectacular sight in nature. Hope that is useful, warm regards, Don

I have an old painting I bought from you at your exhibition in celbridge about 30 years ago of a bog a pheasant flying and one on a pole.
Unfortunately it was stored in a shed for about 4 years and now has mould on it.
Any suggestions how I can have it restored
